Looking for information on my paternal Great Great Grandparents who might have originated from the CASTLEBAR area. Martin MEAKIN b 1823, married Catherine McDERMOTT b 1818. Martin's father Tim MEAKIN b 1811. Might be known as MACAN. Two children born in Ireland - Patrick b 1840, Martin B 1848. Came to Burnley/Padiham in Lancashire 1848-1850. Further eight children born to include my Great Grandmother Mary Jane Meakin B 1852, married James Gough/McGough.

Does anyone have any information about my great grandfather John Joseph Brogan and his family who I believe came from the Castlebar area. He was born in 1872 or 1873 and moved to England, settling in Rotherham, South Yorkshire (appearing on the census here in 1901). He married Ellen Duffy and had children Mary, Agnes, John and Patrick. I know nothing about him before he moved to England and would be grateful for any info.

Looking for any info on John Robson B1822 who eloped with Lucy Farrell,kitchen hand .Sketchy details relate to an Earl Tremaine (Surname Robson) who was Johns father,however on reaching Blackpool changed his name to Robinson.
