Cullen Family in Birr, County Offaly
Looking for information about the Cullen family in Birr, County Offaly. My g-g-great-grandfather, John Cullen, was born in Offaly c. 1770, probably in Daingean/Philipstown (where his descendants lived and my great-grandfather was born) but possibly in Birr. A Peter Cullen, who might possibly have been his brother, married in Birr and had at least three children there: John (1809), Peter (1817), and Patrick (1819). The younger Peter may later have moved to Daingean, and had a child there in 1850, living in Eskermore, the same townland where my Daingean Cullen's lived (perhaps the move was back to a family farm at the time of the famine). Trying to learn whether the elder Peter Cullen was a brother of my John Cullen. I already have the baptismal/marriage records for the people mentioned, where available in the online parish registers, as well as many descendants, and am looking for more info about the family. I can supply further information about the Daingean branch in Ireland and the US, if desired.
