red mail Henrietta Elizabeth CURTIS (RICHARDS ?)
I am looking for Henrietta/Hettie Elizabeth possibly not born RICHARDS as thought. Henrietta and Willie Enoch CURTIS married 8/11/1909 with Henrietta putting 'Henrietta Elizabeth RICHARDS' - Aged 20 with residence at time of marriage The Swan Hotel, Bridge Street Bristol. No entry for father's name. Census 1911 states she was born Bristol now aged 22. No birth records for her in FreeBMD/Family Search/My Heritage. 1939 Census has an entry CR283 Entry showing a change from Henrietta to Alice and Curtis to LEWIS with birthdate of '18/5/1894'. Her daughter Vera was born 18/5 but in 1910 6 months after her marriage?? Has she fudged the date? Not sure if Henrietta's mother who is unknown married someone named RICHARDS after her birth and if so when?? Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? Thank You Leanne D

George Savage Sea Captain
I am trying to research George Savage who I believe was killed when his ship was torpedoed. I believe he was born in Bristol though there is a possibility that it was in Wedmore in Somerset. I understand that this man was presented with a gold hunter watch by President Wilson for rescuing USA citizens when their ship was in trouble. He married Emily Anne James in 1880 in Bristol

Coates/Winscombe family - Bristol
I am trying to find out more information about what happened to Emma Winscombe, who was born in Bristol in 1876, the daughter of William and Emma (nee Coates). Her parents both died when she was young and the 1891 census has her in a Bristol orphanage, but I don't know what happened to her afterwards. I am also looking for information on George Coates (b. 1838, Devon), son of Richard and Ann Coates. George was a stonemason and moved to Bristol in the 1850s. He married Elizabeth Phillips in 1859. She died in 1882 and four of their six children were still alive then (Ernest, George, Lily and Arthur). The problem is that I can't find any trace of George Senior or any of his children in the 1891 census. Can anyone help? I do know that George married Amelia Powell in 1897 and both he and one of his sons (also George) appear separately in the 1901 census.
