A master-baker in Narrow Wine Street, and residence in Redcliff(e) married on 10 July 1825 at St James, Edey MORRIS (of St Augustine's parish). Witnesses: John Pearce Morris and Jane Legg. Their son, William Frederick APPLEBY bapt. 1831 at St James, married Eliza BISHOP (dau. of John BISHOP, butcher resident Redcliff, Bristol) in 1848. A dau Frances (Fanny) Elisabeth, bapt in 1834 at Holy Trinity Bristol, married a sea-captain Charles Edward ANGEL c1855 and family lived in Bedminster district. A daughter (of Wm and Edey) Edey Maria APPLEBY married Frederick George BURDON of Westbury on Trym GLS in 1859.

Daughters Edey and also Mary bapt. 28 June 1807 at St Augustine-The-Less, Bristol, Glos. Other children, of John Pearce and Edye MORRIS, were bapt. at Clifton St Andrew include: John Pearce MORRIS 1798, James Pearce MORRIS 1799, Thomas Pearce MORRIS 1801, Richard Pearce MORRIS 1803, and Mary Elizabeth MORRIS 1813. From a birth certificate (1910), the child was born here as the mother was "committed to two year's detention for immoral and drunken character." She was then moved to State Inebriates' Reformatory, Aylesbury. Any information or resources where I might find more information on these institutions would be appreciated. Thank you.
