red mail HANWELL family one-name study.
..... I am primarily searching for Hanna HANWELL, Wife of John HANWELL. She gave birth to two sons named James and John HANWELL, both of whom were christened at Holy Trinity Church, Hull, Yorkshire. John was Christened in 1782 and James was christened in 1787. ..... John HANWELL senior (and perhaps his wife Hanna) were strays from another area, POSSIBLY BRANDON, in Suffolk or NORWICH, in Norfolk, as there are no records of any HANWELLs in the East Riding of Yorkshire prior to the 1782 Christening. ..... The Daughter of John HANWELL (Junior) married William Allen and she ran a milliner's shop in Brandon. John HANWELL owned the shop and left it to her when he died in 1854. John lived in Norwich, but is buried in Brandon churchyard, as he died in Brandon. ..... If anyone reading this comes across anyone named HANWELL in the course of their own research, I would be pleased to hear from them and exchange information. If anyone knows where Mary Ann Allen's shop is, or anything about their descendants, I would love to learn this. Mary Ann HANWELL was Christened at Huddersfield in 1818 and died (Mary Ann Allen) in 1894. Her Husband, William Allen was born in 1817 and died in 1859. They were married in 1845. ..... Regards, Adrian.
