red mail Bryant and Wrench and Milsom families
My 2xggrandfather Joseph BRYANT was christened at Oldland in 1814. He eventually moved via Bristol to London. Sometime prior to 1841 he married Kezia, surname unknown but born St Georges (Bristol?) about 1813. One of their daughters was Elizabeth Wrench BRYANT (my great grandmother) born 1856 in Battersea, London. In the 1841 census I have found two groups of WRENCH living in Oldland, Bitton, John aged 72 and Charles and Martha aged 35. I assume that Elizabeth was 'Wrench' due to a family connection. I cannot find a 'Kezia WRENCH' or even a 'Kezia' in the area. Is it possible that someone can help me make a connection? David. Update: A recent piece of information suggests Joseph BRYANT married Kezia MILSOM at St Mary's Bitton in 1832 and she may have been baptised at St George's in 1816. Is this of any further help? David.

Whippers Hill
Can anyone help with the location of Whippers Hill, Oldland? The Baker family were living there in 1841, 1851 and 1861. I know it was close to Cock Road because both addresses appear on the same census sheets. Later census returns show the family in Cock Road and then in 1901 at Gee Moor. Does anyone have access to old maps of the area ?
