red mail Lewis Family, BISLEY
I am looking for information about the Lewis family in Bisley, Gloucestershire. My records go back to Joseph Lewis, who was apparently a railway signalman, who was born in Bisley in November, 1853. He married an Eliza Tanner in Stroud sometime between January and March 1876. They had a number of sons including Rowland Gilbert Lewis born in Stroud (Stonehouse) in February 1883. I believe Joseph Lewis was the son of George Lewis (born 1818 or 1819) and Harriet (surname unknown) probably born about 1820. Any information about Joseph Lewis and earlier generations would be greatly appreciated.
