The 1841 census shows someone I believe is my ancestor Joah Hurford (aged 80, occupation farmer) as living in a girls school called Mansion House in Bishops Hull. Can anyone shed any light on Joah or Mansion House? Does anyone have easy access to parish records in Somerset - I would love to find out more about Joah - Who he married, how many children he had etc. I think he is my ancestor because I can trace back to a Joah Hurford aged 15 in London whose parents came from the west country, and both Joah and Hurford are unusual names Thanks for any help anyone can give me Ros
