John Henry Hughes
Looking for descendants/relatives of John Henry Hughes. He was born around 1862 at 35 Herberts Buildings, Southwark, Surrey. His parents were John Hughes and Caroline Dickeson. John Henry Hughes married Louisa Jackson in 1882 in Bethnal Green - St James the Great. Would like to find out if he had any siblings (and names if possible) and when his wife, Louisa Jackson, died. Any information regarding this family would be gratefully appreciated.

red mail Elizabeth Pulley married BENJAMIN AMES 5 Oct 1760
Hello, Eliz married in Oct 1760 in Bethnal Green, Middlesex. They have children Elizabeth Esther Ames 1761 Hannah Jane Ames 1763 Mary Ames 1764 BENJAMIN AMES 1766 James Ames 1767 Sarah Ames 1770 Thomas Ames 3 Oct 1772 Charles Ames 1774 There arent any children that could be her in the exact area but theres one in Bermondsey in January 1735 to parents Daniel Pulley and Mary Ziginham/ Ziginhoorn and theres also a child to a Daniel and Eliz 1740 but this isnt her as this Eliz Pulley remains unmarried and is mentioned in her parents will. Theres another 1740 christening parents William and Mary in Holborn. Theres also one to Hannah and William in 1731 but although she does call a daughter Hannah my one is unlikely to be her; a 1731 child will have already been married by when she marries Ames in 1760 and theres no indication my ancestor is a widow at marriage. Theres a 1734 child Essex parents Henry and Ann but this one is a long way away. The most obvious one is the Bermondsey one but why would she move north of the river and not name a child after her dad? Not a single Elizabeth Pulley has their parents represented in my ones naming patterns although the name William turns up later in her childrens children. Help thank you.

red mail John Bird 18501910 married with Susan Fiddy on 2 March 1860
Hi there, John was the son of Henry and Susan was the daughter to Robert. John was a labourer and could read and write; the marriage transcript is unclear but appears Henry was a tobacco maker and Robert was a wine cooker (???). Cant find any records of Susan predating their marriage and she appears in many trees as Susan Wey (like the river in Guildford) so wondering whether Robert was a step parent. Both Henry and Robert are living when the marriage happens and witnesses are John Leonard or Leopard, illiterate, and Harriet Leonard or Leopard, illiterate.

Sailors (1914-1918 War) of Bethnal Green.
Recently a photo of five sailors was passed onto me following the passing of a relative. One of the sailors is my father - born and bred in Bethnal Green . I believe that during WW1 it was common that 'call up' papers were sent out in areas, is it possible the remaining unkown sailors could be lads from Bethnal Green ? From my father's service record he was posted to HMS Vernon on the 25th January 1915, followed by a posting to HMS Victory at Portsmouth on the 28th of January until the 20th April 1915. One of he sailors - with a small beard - hat ribbon has the name of HMS Victory displayed. The photograph was taken at a studio in Portsmouth - date unknown. My father served on HMS Agincourt from the 28th April 1915 until the 27th Febuary 1918 - during the Battle of Jutland. Please don't hesitate to make contact if one of your descendant's could be one of the four unknown sailors of Bethnal Green. I would be happy to forward - via email a copy of the photo - please make known your connection.
