red mail Richard Godfrey
My ancestor Richard Godfrey was born at Belton 1651 and died there 1715. He married Sarah Ward at Wardley c1691 when he was about 40 years of age. By the standards of the day he would have been "old" for a first marriage and I wonder if Sarah was his second wife or maybe he had done military service before he married her? I've looked in records for Rutland/Leics/Northants but found nothing so far. Does anyone have any information please? The Godfreys were a farming family who had been in Belton since at least the start of the seventeenth century. They also had land at East Norton and Great Easton in Leicestershire. Thank you.

red mail ANDREW(S), John
I am looking for more details of a John ANDREW or ANDREWS who was living in Belton in Rutland during the 1820s and 1830s. He was married to Ann (Unknown) who was born in about 1794 in Harringworth, Northamptonshire and they had the following children:- William (1818 - ), Mary (1820 - ), Stephen (1821 - ), Elizabeth (1826 – 1857), & Joseph (1830 – 1902). William their first son is believed to have been born in Harringworth so I assume that John and Ann were possibly married there as well. Any information would be welcome about this couple or their families.
