Possibly died 1801. Shown elsewhere to be married to Ralph GALE 1763-1823 but possibly married to Thomas GALE causing confusion in my tree. I would be most grateful for any advice on this problem and any further information about Dorothy or the GALEs in this branch of the tree which goes back to Luke Gale in 1695 and beyond. Thank you, Jay

Inlater years Donalds name was changed to Donald Smith Sheffield, dont know why, or if it was his adopted folks name?? Arbour Hill was, or is, part of the Hornby castle estate, I dont know if the mother, Mary Smith, worked at Arbour Hill, may be as a maid,?? only on Donalds birth cert. her occupation was House Duties,?? or was it a unmarried mothers home?? dont know.
