red mail Charles & Hannah Guilford
Charles (1850 Eastbourne) & Hannah nee Cousins (1854 Salford Lancs) married in 1880 and moved to 18 Birley Street Battersea some time in the 1880's. They had three daughters Nellie (1881), Alice (1883) and Frances Maud (1885) - my great grandmother, and a son Charles (1889). Charles senior was a builder, joiner and carpenter and died in 1900 aged 49. Charles junior was killed in action in Belguim in 1918, and Hannah died in 1943. I know that Alice's married name was Keeping. I would be most interested in hearing from anyone who is connected with this family.

red mail Blondel Street
I should be interested if anyone has any recollections of Blondel Street, Battersea and the surrounding area before the so-called "slum clearances" in the 1950s. My parents and grandparents lived there at one time but it's too late to ask them about it now.
