Catchpole Family
i have a marriage for MARY Catchpole to Abraham Makins in Alpheton in 1792, after which they appear to have moved to Lawshall where their first two children were born...Henry in 1793 and William in 1796. the curious thing is that the baptisms of both Henry and William show the parents as Abraham and SARAH late Catchpole rather than Abraham and MARY late Catchpole. Subsequent children were baptized showing parents to be Abraham and MARY late Catchpole. i can find no marriage for Abraham and Sarah, so why were the first two children attributed to a maother named SARAH so soon after Abraham married Mary

red mail The Nears Family - Alpheton/Sudbury Suffolk
Am interested in the Nears family particularly Sarah Jane Nears who I believe may have lived in Church Lane, Alpheton. She was, supposedly, married possibly to Reginald Nears. Would be good to hear from anyone with an interest in any branch of the Nears family who stretched as far as Essex. Regards Sarah
