red mail Thomson - Baird
Looking for information on George Thomson and Margaret Baird, married 17 May 1825 in Kirkintilloch, Dunbarton. Their children were Andrew (1826), James (1827), George (1829), and John (1831). Birth date for George (Sr.) Thomson may be ca.1788. I do not have a date of death. Margaret was living by herself with Andrew and James in the 1841 census. By 1861 she is living with her son James and his family in Neilston and Barrhead, Renfrewshire, and is listed as grandmother. She died in 1881, after that census was taken.

red mail Looking for birth father
Looking for birth father My name is Ammanda Sturges ( Ferguson ) my mother Janette Forbes and my birth father James Ferguson were married in 1971 ( the year of my birth 11/01/1971 ) James worked in the kilt industry I believe as a kilt maker in that year. My mother is from Kirkintilloch and I believe they were married there. I was born in Southampton, but raised in Kirkintilloch. I now live in California, USA. I have waited 47 years to begin this search, but I know I have siblings. If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

red mail John Mclaren (1840-1898)
Seeking information on the above, his death record records him born at Kirkintilloch in 1840. He married Ellen Mullan in 1864 in Greenock at Patrick Street and migrated to New Zealand in 1875. The couple had ten children, some born in Scotland and other in Dunedin, New Zealand. John died in Dunedin in 1898 aged 58. One family history suggested his parents were James and Agnes (Murray) from Ireland but I can find nothing to support this data. He is more likely to have come from Scottish parents. A number of birth records/date/location match in certain criteria but not in others, so it remains a mystery. Any pointers or information welcomed.

red mail James Smillie, Mary Stewart Galloway Smillie
Mary Smillie was my g-grandmother and married Rev Thomas Angus Morrison. Her father was James Smillie who was born in Kirkintilloch. His father, William, spelt the surname Smellie. James had a business which I believe was tied in with Coaching. Wondering if anyone has any information on exactly what the company was or did.
