red mail Banks Farm
My father John Williamson was born in Scotland and when both his parents had died he was looked after by his sister Margaret McInnis at Banks Farm, Greenock before he left for Australia. He later joined the Australian army and fought at Gallipoli and France winning an MM at Pozieres and was wounded and captured at Bullecourt. Whilst a POW, in 1917, he sent a post card to his sister at 'The Banks' saying that he was 'having a good run lately'. A late relation left me a photograph which I think was taken at 'The Banks', and I can make out Margaret McInnis and possibly her husband, but all the rest are unknown. I think the photo nay have been taken around the time of the First World War? Would you be able to help me identify The Banks ie could it be Bankfoot? Yours sincerely John
