My ggggGrandfather James McKANNA born in about 1790, came from Monaghan, lived in East London. red mail William Miller
Trying to trace my ancestors from Ireland, one of who was William Miller who came from County Monaghan and was transported to Australia in 1843 at the age of 27. He was apparently a linen weaver at the time and left Dublin on "North Briton" on 20 Dec 1842. If anyone can help with trying to trace his parents or siblings it would be appreciated, any help at all would be great.

red mail John PHILLIPS & Mary Ann TATE
Trying to find some information on the above couple. John PHILLIPS was the son of Francis PHILLIPS and Jan DOULEY and was born about 1833 in Monaghan. Mary Ann TATE was the daughter of William TATE and Mary ? and was born also about 1833 in Cavan. Mary had a sister Elizabeth who was born about 1837. John and Mary Ann PHILLIPS came to Australia as a married couple in 1855 on the Conrad. I believe William and Elizabeth followed shortly after. Both John and Mary Ann worked in an asylum in Australia after their arrival, John as a warder and Mary Ann as a nurse. Can anyone steer me in the right direction as to where I can research their ancestry in Ireland? Does anyone recognise any of this? Thanking you in anticiation, Wendy in Australia

red mail COCHRAN'S OF MONAGHAN
I'm looking for anyone with connections to my gt gt grandmother Catherine Cochran born around 1855 possibly in Monaghan Ireland. She married Patrick Finnegan - don't know where or when. They had a daughter Eliza Jane born around 1877. On a Scottish Census Eliza is recorded as being from Belfast. Her subsequent marriage and death in Glasgow Scotland records her father as being a Soldier. The only Patrick & Catherine I can find in Ireland on the 1901 census in New Bliss town in Monaghan where he is recorded as being Catholic, born Monaghan and an Army Pensioner. Way back I did find a marriage record for a Patrick and Catherine who married in Belfast in 1864 in the Church of Ireland but now I don't think it is the right one as Eliza raised her children as Catholic. Any help would be very very much appreciated. Best Regards Moira
