red mail ALICE FREESE/FRIEZE - IRISH FAMINE ORPHAN
Alice FREESE/FRIEZE, my great grandmother born about 1834, in Cashel, Tipperary, emigrated to Australia on the 'John Knox' as an Irish Famine Orphan in 1850. Her father was William Freese, a cooper, her mother Margaret PURTELL/PURCELL. Alice had at least two brothers John and James. Does anyone know anything about this family or their descendants? Very important to me.

red mail Pennefather - Richard
The Pennefather family were significant landholders in Tipperary from the time of Oliver Cromwell. Several of them are burried in the floor of the cathedral on the Rock of Cashel. Several members of Richard's family migrated to Australia in 1855 but I have not been able to locate a death date for him. One of Ricard's sons moved to New Zealand in 1860, married an Irish lass and raised a family. My Grndmother was one of their children.
