red mail Presdee Family
Trying to find any details for Jane Presdee nee Price, born c 1829. I can track her up to the birth of her third child Abiarthar (male) in 1853. Her husband Josiah dies in 1853 and Abiathar dies in 1854. Jane's sister Sarah Fox registers Abiarthar's death. I cannot find any record for Jane after Abiarthar's birth.

red mail Cooper
Many thanks to Ivor for helping identify Barbara Ellen Cooper, twin sister of Arthur Henry, born 2 Sep 1878 at Dinedor, Hereford. Parents George and Mary Ann, formerly Ando, moved to Brynmawr soon after their twin births, George was soon a coal miner. Barbara Ellen seems to have been known as Ellen and had an illegitimate daughter, also known as Mary Ann in July 1900. From 1903 mother and daughter were in Newport Workhouse. Daughter Mary was soon transferred to Dr Barnardo's, returning briefly to the workhouse in 1913; Ellen seems to have remained an inmate - probably for the rest of her days although we lose track of her after she was moved in mid-1931 to an Insitution in Chepstow. Her death certificate shows Drybridge House, Monmouth on 22nd June, 1962. Any information regarding Ellen or any of her siblings (William George 1876), Frederick (1880), Mary Elizabeth - Lizzie (1885), Hannah (1888), George (1891) and possibly Robert (1894) and Isabella (1896) or their descendants would be much appreciated. We are curious (!) as to why none of her family seemed to have any contact with Ellen once she had been 'institutionalised'. Greg
