Shortt - Fitzgerald from Pallas, (near Toomyvara) Co. Tipperary
My Great, Great Grandparents were John Shortt (1793-1847) and Mary Anne Fitzgerald (1796-1873). Their son, also named John Shortt, was born in County Tipperary in 1830.
On 3 Sep 1862, John (junior) married Harriet Anne Burriss at Saint Mary, Edge Hill, in Lancashire, England. John & Harriet immigrated to New Zealand on the ship Belgravia, arriving in Auckland on 10 May 1865. Harriet died on 6 Jan 1866, aged 22. John re-married, to Maria Blackmore and settled at Mangere Bridge, Auckland, NZ.
I am interested to learn any family history details, in particular, ancestors of John Shortt (senior), who was the eldest son of John Shortt (known as "John the Elder"), of Pallas/Pallice. Also, any details regarding the ancestors of Mary Anne Fitzgerald, who was the daughter of Edward Fitzgerald, of Coolmore, Laois, Ireland.
