Upton St. Leonards Smith's
Hello I am currently conducting genealogical
research on my 5th Gr. Grandfather ANTHONY SMITH who I believe migrated to
Colonial America from Gloucestershire England in 1751.I have documented the following information and believe this to perhaps be my ancestor.
The reference is from the following publication :BONDED PASSENGERS TO AMERICA,VOL.VI-OXFORD CIRCUIT 1663-1775 BY PETER WILSON COLDHAM.
The highly condensed entry is as follows: ANTHONY SMITH sentenced to
transportation-Lent;Reprieved for transportation ,14yrs.;Transportation
bond ,August 1751 from Gloucestershire.
A fellow genealogist from England searched various Gloucestershire records and we tend to believe this is the family to which he belongs.
In the "Upton parish registers" it lists the following references:

William and Mary Smith appear to have had:-

Feb. 8th. 1712/13 John
July 17th. 1715 Sarah
Nov. 23rd. 1717 William
Nov. 6th. 1720 Anthony
April 14th. 1723 Elizabeth
Feb. 6th. 1725/26 Mary
Jan. 12th. 1728/29 Robert
June 25th. 1732 Thomas (He was buried July 27th. 1736)

I am interested in how I might gain any additional info on this family or
any other documents or family trees that may aid me
in tracing my heredity.Any help on this family would be greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,Joseph, USA
