I am researching my husband's direct line, family surname Birchley, the family lived in Castlemorton at least from abt 1600 to the late 18th Century. I would like to find anyone from the same family so that we can compare notes, and also find out more about where they lived in Castlemorton etc. The line, if I am correct, is as follows:-
Thomas Birchley b abt 1600
Samuel b 1661 m Jane Lane
Joseph b 1711 m Elizabeth Alliott
Benjamin b 1740 m Alice Bailey
Thomas b 1772 m Sarah ?
This Thomas went to Kent, see notes below.
'Born in 1772 in Barton, Worcestershire (Now Warks?), he was apprenticed on 20th May1786 just before his 14th birthday as a Brazier in Kidderminster in Worcestershire to Fra (Frank? Frances? ) Bishop.
Later Thomas served on the ship 'Gibralter' and one an award for his part in 'Lord Howes Victory' on 1st June 1794. Defeat of Fench Fleet and capture of six sail of The Line, and one sunk. He was a private in the 25th Regiment.
In the 1851 Census, aged 79 Thomas was a labourer in Swanscombe,Kent.'
