Foster families in Crowle
My great grandfather Joseph FOSTER (b. 1851 in Abberton, m. Ann COLE 1870) lived and worked in Crowle c.1890-1901. In the 1891 census the family were living at Mordaunt's Farm and Joseph's occupation described as 'farmer'. In the 1901 census the family were living in Gamekeeper's Cottage and Joseph was working as an agricultural labourer.
The children of the family were Ellen Hannah, Henry Cory, Jessie M., William Joseph, Alfred James, Elizabeth and Albert. All except Albert were born in Hanbury.
I know that Joseph's son, Henry Cory Foster (c.1874-1939) remained in Crowle for much of his life, working as an agricultural labourer. He married a neighbour's daughter, Emma BUTLER (b. 1873), in 1899 and they had seven children: Lilly B. (b.1895), Joseph William (b. 1900), Edith Ellen (b.1901), Gertrude Annie (b.1903), Elizabeth Mary (b. 1907), Arthur Henry (b. 1909) and Albert George, (b.1916). The family lived in Malthouse (Lane?) in 1901. All dates are approximate.
I am looking for information on this family, both ancestors and descendants. I am particularly keen to make contact with descendants of the Foster family as I did not have any information passed down to me from this side of my family.
