DANIELL, Lawrence Sidney
My Grandfather Lawrence Sidney Daniell enlisted in the Royal East Kent Mounted Rifles at Broad Oak near Sturry on 4 September 1914. He gave his address as Clerkenwell, London EC where he was also born and was living in 1911. I would be interested to know why a Londoner enlisted in Kent. Was he living there? If anyone can shed any light on this I would be very pleased to hear from you. He died in 1935 aged 44.
Lawrence Daniell. I am researching both sides of my family tree with particular interest, at the moment, in my Mothers side (REDING) as her 18th and 19th century ancestors came from Hampshire and are local. Other Hampshire names of interest are CANNON, GLASPOOL (including variations), MOSS, MOORE especially in the Andover, Winchester area.
I have traced my Fathers side (DANIELL) to William Daniell who married Charlotte Bishop in Lambeth in 1827. I found this on the IGI and know nothing else about them(yet!) Any help with either side would be greatly appreciated.
