Looking for marriage of Luke WEATHERIT & Alice (Ellis) FINLAY somewhere before 1826. Daughter Alice born Mar 1826, and son George born Oct 1828,both baptised St Michael, Alnwick Luke was a Miller in Bilton Mill parish of Lesbury, 1841 census son George age 12 living with aunt & uncle James EADINGTON (wife Mary Finlay) Brinkburn Northumberland. Mother & daughter Alice 1841 not in census anywhere.
Found a burial notice for a Luke WEATHERIT d. Jan 16 1830 at Flint Mills, Lesbury, can't prove this is our Luke. Interesting, James EADINGTON, uncle of Alice & George was living in Bondgate St, Alnwick, as a Baker & flour dealer, then in 1832 living at Bilton Mill & farm in 1832, makes us wonder if the funeral record of Luke WEATHERIT 1830 is our fellow, don't know how to prove it.
1851 census Mother Alice (living with married daughter Alice BURNETT) age 52, widow, midwife. George not in 1851 census.
1854 George marries Eleanor BELL (father Gavin BELL,Lesbury) at Lamberton Toll, they have a son George b. Oct 1856 d.6 mths, Newcastle on Tyne, they are then in Australia Aug 1857 where son George Edward is born. Can't find Shipping list either. Any suggestions out there.
