Old Vicarage - Garway
My mother, Bessie Eileen Jones lived at the Old Vicarage with her mother Sarah Ann Jones (nee Pearce - Bevan) and her sister Minnie around 1925. There were two other half sisters, Maud and Mary. The family had fallen on bad times and my grandfather, William John Jones had disappeared. My mother and her half sister Mary attended Garway School. My mother was sent to a House of Mercy in Horbury, Wakefield in 1927. What was the story about the Old Vicarage? Was it a refuge? I would be grateful for any information.
