Family Crest for the Watson Family in Bowdon
I have found a crest for a branch of the Watson family. The Griffin holds in its beak a rose branch (leaved) with a single six-petaled rose. It is sufficiently similar to the crest for John Watson of Whitney Terrace, Bowdon (as shown in Fairbairn's Book of Crests, 1905 Ed.) that I consider the possibility of a connection.

The crest was placed in a book indicating it to be the possession of a Watson family. The book was published 1846.

Any information regarding the family that owned the book would be welcome.
