King family in Cloonmore, Claremorris, in Kilcolman parish, as well as Curraby/Creaby family in Bohola parish, Co. Mayo
My great-grandmother, Bridget King, married Peter Gallagher on 26 April 1869, in Claremorris, Co. Mayo (Parish of Kilcolman). Bridget was from that parish (baptized there 4 August 1850). Peter was born c. 1846 in the neighboring parish of Killedan (Kiltimagh). Bridget's parents were Nicholas King and Margaret (Peg) Curraby. The King family lived in the townland of (Lower) Cloonmore in Kilcolman parish, according to Griffith's Valuation in 1856, and baptismal records for Bridget and several siblings exist in that parish. Peter and Bridget Gallagher raised their family in the townland of Carrrownteeaun in Killedan parish, where his family was from (I have a separate post here about the Gallaghers).
Margaret Curraby was apparently born in the townland of Pulroghnahane in Killedan parish, but the family later moved to the nearby townland of Treanfohanaun in Bohola parish, where records exist for several of her siblings and/or cousins, and their descendants. Her father was Richard Curraby. Her mother's name was Bridget, but her maiden surname is unknown). The paternal surname was later spelled Creaby by many family members.
Interested in learning more about the King and Curraby/Creaby families. Any information appreciated, and I can share info about descendants in Ireland, the UK, and the US..
