Sinclair and McCadie
For any descendants of Donald Sinclair (b 1775 Caithness) and Christian McCadie (b 1779) I provide the following information.
Donald and Christian were married on or about 5th May 1800. According to records they had 5 children although I believe that only 3 were blood relatives as 2 of them may have been adopted. On of the children George who was born in 1806 in Thurso is my Great Great Grandfather, he along with Christian and the other siblings came out to Hobart Town Tasmania in about 1832, presumably after Donald died in about 1830.
The other siblings were Hugh, Robert, William and Peter, I'm reasonably certain that Peter was adopted as his middle name is "Leeds". George Sinclair was a master mariner, whaler, general cargo and convict transporter. Christian died in Hobart Town in 1843, but there is no surviving grave site. George died in Port Adelaide of cancer in 1862, with no surviving grave site. I would be most interested to hear from anyone on the Sinclair or McCadie side who reside in Scotland as I believe all the direct descendants came out to Australia. I would welcome any feedback or correction.
