George Frederick LUDLEY
Has anyone come across George Frederick LUDLEY (or Frederick George), Professional Musician, sailor, mate-merchant service between the dates 1881-1911?
My wife's gt. grandmother's (Maud Harriet LUDLEY) death certificate in 1920 referred to her as the widow of George Frederick LUDLEY, Professional Musician, but there is no record of their marriage. Her maiden name was HENRY. The 1911 census shows that she had 5 children of whom three survived but she registered only 2 of the births. Only 4 of the 5 children are known:- Gertrude Maude b.1892, Winifred b.1893(not registered), George Frederick b.1899(not registered), Maud b.1904. The family history appears to indicate that George Frederick Snr. died young of throat cancer but there is no record of a death registered in his name. As a professional musician his stage name may have been WINTER as this is the stage name used by his "wife" Maud. I cannot find him on any census or any other record.
