Gall family of Barbados
The family tradition of the Galls who lived for many generations in Barbados is that they originally came from Elgin. There is no proof of this. The first family member in the Barbadian records is Andrew Gall who was the commander of the sloop Katherine and there are records which show him sailing frequently between Barbados and "Antegua" in 1679. He married in Barbados in 1672, so must have first left Scotland around 1670.
Any thoughts on how to make a connection with Galls in Elgin or the surrounding parts of Scotland?
