Looking for information about Isaac ROCKINGHAM (1818-1895) who lived in Shrubbery Villas, Edmonton from at least 1871 until his death. He was born in Northamptonshire but moved to Essex when working on the Railways where he ended as an Inspector of Works. He is found in the 1851 to 1881 censuses under the name of George Brown although his children were all registered as Rockingham. When he died he left £12,000 which, according to some web sites, equates to around £1million today. If anyone has any idea why he used an assumed name and where his money came from I'd be very interested to hear from you.

Lawrence Daniell. I am researching both sides of my family tree with particular interest, at the moment, in my Mothers side (REDING) as her 18th and 19th century ancestors came from Hampshire and are local. Other Hampshire names of interest are CANNON, GLASPOOL (including variations), MOSS, MOORE especially in the Andover, Winchester area.
I have traced my Fathers side (DANIELL) to William Daniell who married Charlotte Bishop in Lambeth in 1827. I found this on the IGI and know nothing else about them(yet!) Any help with either side would be greatly appreciated.
