Mason family - Hull
Is anyone researching a family or families called Mason who lived in Hull in the C19? I have been trying to, but after sending for three certificates, none of which turned out to be for the people I am interested in, I have drawn a blank. The certificates I have are: birth certificate for George Mason 28/04/1840 (father William, a tailor and mother Harriet, formerly Campion) marriage certificate from 1838 for John Mason and Jane Finningley (that John being a bookseller) and death certificate for Jane Mason 25/02/1864, widow of John Mason master mariner.
The George I am looking for was born around 1838 and although his parents were John and Jane, they were greengrocers and Jane was born Shankster, from West Halton in Lincolnshire. Can anyone help?
I'd be happy to send over scanned copies of the certificates mentioned above if it would help anyone else!
I am interested in finding out about the Passey family of Twyning / Strensham and also those Passeys in / around Bromyard, other areas of north Herefordshire and also Much Marcle and Cleobury Mortimer. Are there links between the Passeys in Cleobury Mortimer and those in other parts of South Shropshire and neighbouring parts of Herefordshire and Worcestershire? Are these families connected to the families called Pacy or Pacey in / around Tewkesbury in the C17 and C18?
I'd also like to learn more about the Madin family in / around Chesterfield and about the Herrings and Howletts in King's Lynn.
In addition, I'm interested in the Appleby, Brumpton and Dent families in North Lincolnshire and the Walker families in North Lincolnshire and also a family called Mason, originating in Hull, but who then moved to North Lincolnshire.
