Mary Ellen Moss Williams
Looking for information and relatives regarding my maternal grandmother Mary Ellen Moss. Her address at the time of her marriage was 5 Heed Street. Her age was 21 and her father's name was Benjamin Moss, miner. My grandmother married my grandfather George Arthur Williams on May 15, 1915 at Burmantofts, St. Stephens in the County of Leeds. My grandfather, a widower at the time of this marriage, resided at 12 Rectory Street. They had one daughter, Connie Williams, my mother who was born in Leeds November 8, 1923. Her residence at that time was 33 Bickendike St., Leeds. Mary Ellen Moss died in 1926 when my mother was 3 yrs. old and George remarried. He died in 1935 when my mother was 12 yrs old. My mother was stationed in the Womens Land Army and came to the U.S. as a war bride aboard the Saturnia. At the time of her marriage she was at Park Hall, Salford Priors. My mother died May 16, 2011. Her favorite cousin was George Bainbridge whose mother Cisy Bainbridge was my mother's favorite aunt. My paternal great grandmother would have been Jemima Kelford who married George Williams, son of John Hallard. For some unknown reason, George changed his name to Hallard just before he married and back to Williams after he was married.
