Cronin family from Ireland to Michigan
The family of Timothy Cronin (b. abt 1807), wife - Hannah (b. abt. 1808), son - Daniel (b. abt.1823), daughter-in-law - Margaret (b. abt. 1827), son?- Michael (b. abt. 1835) and daughter? - Hannah (b. abt. 1843) were all born in Ireland.
They came to the US between 1843 and 1860 and are recorded in Paw Paw, Michigan in the 1860 census. The males listed above indicate they are Day Laborers or Farm Laborers.
I feel that they came during the famine and selected Michigan to join relatives named Hennessy. The Hennessy family in Paw Paw was that of James Hennessy, son of Hannah Cronin Hennessy. (Spellings in records range: Henesy, Hennesy, Hennessy, Hennessey, etc.)
Does anyone know the barony, parish, townlands these Cronins and Hennessys came from in Ireland? and perhaps why they left?
