Guisborough - Henry Lisle
Looking for any information on the family of HENRY LISLE. He was a Woolen Draper who Died 15th day of January 1664:he had THREE sons and five daughters. The bulk of his estate went to his firstborn son Morris, and his other children received £150 each. The Will was Proved at York (Cleveland Deanery) on the 8th day of May 1668. Church Briefs reveal that he was a wealthy trader and that he had lost more than £4000 through "fire and shipwracke". His name is inscribed on a silver chalice in the Parish Church where he was a Churchwarden.
There is also another Henry Lisle died in Whitby 1713 and his Will was Proved at York (Cleveland Deanery). Believed to be a Cotten Merchant. Are the two linked?
