Memorial Stone Puddington Cheshire

"The memorial stone was erected by public subscription as a token of deep sympathy with George and Mary Day of Puddington through the sudden and painful bereavement in the death of their four sons by drowning in a pond near their home on March 4th 1888. Charles aged 17yrs John Edward aged 15yrs William Thomas aged 11yrs and George aged 7yrs and here interred. Tragically the two oldest heroically sacrificed their lives attempting to save the two youngest
