Revd Crispin Field
Crispin Field is listed in Crockford's Clerical Directory as living in Three Shires Oak Road, Smethwick in 1916. However, in spite of searches by various members of the family, we cannot find any details - place of birth(c. 1843) or death (post 1916). He officiated at my grandparents'(Thomas Field and Rosa Cryer) wedding at St Cuthbert's Church, Birmingham in January 1898. I have a copy of the marriage certificate. There is a long entry in Crockford's, including ministry in London, Worcester, Lichfield, Bury, Barbados and a reference to his being acting chaplain to the Forces 1881-82. I would be grateful for any information about the elusive Crispin.
