Parsons-Father and Grandfather
My wife's Grandfather Charles Henry Parsons born 1856 and died 1931 lived in Kingsands until sometime after 1901 then in Cecil Street, Plymouth. He was a shipwright by trade and according to 1911 census worked in a 'private yard'. My wife's father was born 1894 and died in 1960, like his father he lived in Kingsands then Plymouth. He served a shipwright apprenticeship (in a private yard) presumably with his father. He served throughout WW1 as a stretcher bearer, upon return from the war he could not get a job in Plymouth once again following his father to Portsmouth for work. He married and worked in various jobs before he was able to enter Portsmouth Dockyard as a shipwright and stayed there until his death.
We would like to know where in Plymouth they worked as shipwrights and apprenticeships served. Can anyone help please.
