My grandfather, George Thomas Turner, was born in Mathon in 1896, and lived, by the time of the 1901 census, at a farm cottage (?no. 1) at South Hyde Farm. His family - also living there - were: father William (bricklayer's labourer), mother Mary (worked on farm as agricultural labourer), brother James (waggoner's boy (sic)), sisters Florence and Elizabeth, and brothers George and Victor. Any ideas gratefully received. Also - any thoughts on what life as an agricultural labourer was like at that time?
