John Turner Family, Beighton Lane - 1881
I'm looking for information on the family of John and Elizabeth (Bingham) Turner who lived in Woodhouse until 1881, when they left for the United States. John (born in Woodhouse about 1832) was a surveyor of roads and new buildings in 1881. He is believed to have been the son of William Turner, a publican, who once operated a pub called The Gate Inn on Station Road in Woodhouse. Elizabeth (also born about 1832 in Norton, Derbyshire) was the daughter of Richard Bingham, a scythe smith.
