Greenwood William (Revd) 1830s
Rev William of Malton (1820s), Torquay (1829/1830), Radnorshire Looking for further information. He was born in Sheffield. His father's family came from Hallifax, his mother's from Bincliffe Hill, Barnsley. He trained in Idle and ministered with the Independents but eventually took most of his congregation over to the Established Church in the early 1830s. William (1788-1842)married Martha (nee Croft) (1799-1829)they had 3 living children Samuel (1817) m Jane Vale; George Henry (1823) m Penelope Bedford; Jennet (1826) m Benjamin Newling - second wife Eliza Heywood of Froxfield in 1830. Samuel and George migrated to Australia. William is the author of the Vale of Apperley. A copy of his diary 1805-1830 is in the Griffith University library, Queensland, Australia and a book about him, Mysterious Providence.
