My Cooper Family
I have been searching my maternal grandparents which has taken me back as far as my 3xgreat grandfather John Bucknell Cooper and his wife Elizabeth (nee Crow) married in about 1813 (according to a copy of an earlier Cooper Family Tree). So far I have got BMD certificates/ plus some census records which have taken me back to confirming that J.B Cooper's son Charles was born in Liverpool (about 1815)and married Margaret (nee Partington) at Saint Johns, Old Haymarket, Liverpool on the 30th July 1837. Their two eldest sons John Bucknell (my great Grandfather) and Charles Partington were later both christened at St Peter, Liverpool - John Bucknell on the 8th July 1838. Charles Cooper had three further children William Henry, Alice and Frank Thomas - who appear to have been born after the family left Liverpool. The earliest Census I have with them is 1851; and the family is in Stoke-on-Trent: but I would love to be able to trace where the family lived in Liverpool. Charles Cooper (1851) was employed as a Railway Officer; I am fascinated as to whether his father John Bucknell might also have been connected to the very early railways. All I have to source has been any Directories of the period with a blank so far; the lack of any address further handicaps me in identifying the family.
