Irish/Scottish Williamson connection??
I'm trying to trace back my Williamson Line to find a Scottish and Arnott connection which I was told about by my Grandfather before he passed. Somewhere up the line one of the Williamson's came over from somewhere around Greenock.
This is the information I have going from my Great Grandfather Backwards...James Alexander Williamson - 1880 to 1937 (actually registered as Matthew at birth but later renamed, not officially, as his uncle he was named for jumped ship in Montovideo) Married Rebecca McConnell 1882-1970 in Ballymena Gospel hall 1905.
His Father - Robert Williamson - 1858? to 1936 married Elizabeth Graeme 1858? to 1944 - Presbeterian Church of Ballymena 1880
(Robert also had a brother Matthew 1851? to ?? and a Sister Saragh 1853 - ??)
His Grandfather - William John Williamson - 1820?-1899 married Margaret Cuthbert (nee Carson) c1817 to ?? Ballyclug Church of Ireland 1846 - (unknown what siblings William had)
His Great Grandfather - Matthew (john?) Williamson 1793? - ?? unknown who married
