JOHNS
I am researching the Johns family who lived in Bristol from C19th century onwards ( & possibly prior to this). Earliest ancestor traced to this location is James Johns (b. 1789) Married to Sarah, with other children Catherine (1820), William (1823) & Daniel (1826) & Thomas (b. 1834). Following Sarahs death remarried Elizabeth Salisbury (nee James) & had children: Elizabeth b. 1838, William b. 1841. Know James was a sugar boiler & died age 55 on 16 November 1844 after falling through a pulley hole, at a Finzels sugar refinery in the counterslip area of Temple Parish (St. Mary Redcliffe).

James was son of William James Johns, a labourer.

In early C20th the family lived in St. James area of Bristol.
