Tullich Muir - Ross family
I am researching the Ross Family of Tullich Muir. My gt.gt.grandfather was Hugh Ross b.1809 Logie Easter, son of William Ross & Ann Munro. He married Catherine Campbell in 1858.Catherine was the daughter of John Campbell & Kate McDonald and was born in Ferintosh.
Hugh and Catherine had the following children:
William b.1859(my gt.grandfather) who moved to Newcastle upon Tyne and married Annie Jefferson Wallace.
Robert 1861 d.1935 lived in Invergordon and married a widow - Jessie Graham
John b.1863 - can find no trace
Hugh b. 1864 - can find no trace
Annabella b.1866 d.1876
Catherine b.1868 - after 1891 census no trace
Margaret b.1871 married Thomas Wilson 1904 - one daughter Catherine Johan Campbell Wilson b.1906.
Margaret died 1947, Thomas 1950 and Catherine 1987 and all are buried in the Kilmuir Easter Graveyard
Donella b.1873 - no trace of her after birth but presume she died about the same time as Annabella as there was an epidemic of Scarlet Fever.
Mary Ross b.1874 emigrated to Canada. I have an address for 1910 in Montreal.
Donald MacKay b. 1878, emigrated in 1906, married Kathleen Abraham in 1920 lived in Oshawa, Ontario and died there in 1926.
If anyone has any info on the above I would be pleased to hear from you.
