Flamstead, Hertfordshire

Flamstead Village War Memorial
Working with the active encouragement of the Flamstead Society and the Parish Council, in November 2007 I began a project to create a written record of the lives of those men named on the Village War Memorial. Since that time we have identified a further 25 men from the Parish who lost their lives in WW1 but who are not named on the Memorial.

I have also been able to find out some information on another 150 men from the Parish who fought in the 1914-18 conflict but survived and came home again.

I would be happy to share any information on men serving in the Armed Forces from the Parish during either of the two World Wars (although the information we hold is strongly WW1 biased).
I would also welcome additional information that would help us build up a better picture of any of these individuals.

Simon
