TIBBS of Orpington
Elijah TIBBS (1704-C.1782) son of William TIBBS and Elizabeth COOPER of Upper Clatford, Hants. In 1739 in London married Mary LANE (1718-1788) the daughter of William LANE (1679-1750) and Mary PEDDER. Elijah and Mary TIBBS purchased the messuage for the 'Coach and Horses' Inn in Orpington and other properties in Orpington, Farnborough and Chelsfield. Children of Elijah and Mary TIBBS:- Elijah (1740-?), Elizabeth (1842-1874), William (1749-1801) married about 1780 to Sarah ? (1746-1832), (one daughter Diana Belson TIBBS (1781-1819)), Mary(1749-?), John (C1750-?) married Elizabeth ?, Peter (1757-1788) married Ann ROUND 1781. George (1756-1816) married Mary HALL (1758-1835) daughter of Thomas HALL (1717-1780)and Sarah HARRIS-WAKELING (1721-1781) both died at the 'Bulls Head Inn', Pratts Bottom, Kent.
