BARNES family of Ireland
Searching for info on John BARNES (b.abt 1790 Ireland)married Mary ROBINSON, believed to have arrived from Ireland to Boston, Massachusetts, USA 1800-1810,son Charles Barnes b. Aug 24th,1810 in Boston, Mass.,USA. Family lore goes that John Barns & his wife Mary were the owners of a Boston publishing company called Barnes Books. Their son Charles Barns was a merchant mariner & story goes that he jumped ship in Montreal, Quebec, Canada about 1839.In April of 1839 Charles was baptized in the Catholic faith just prior to his marriage to Josephte Eugenie Seguin (dit Lateroute) in April 1839 in Riguad, Quebec. She was the daughter of Antoine Seguin dit Lateroute & Marie Anne Belair dit Robidoux.Their son Alexandre Barnes, my gg grandfather, was born in September 1839
& was married in June 1863 in Riguad, Quebec to Olive Sabourin dit Choiniere, after her passing was remarried to Aurelie Paradis in Sept 1883 in Prescott, Ontario. I have hit a brickwall with John BARNES & Mary ROBINSON of Ireland & Boston & any bit of info would be most appreciated.
