|Hester Family ca. 1860's through 1890's - (Heaton Norris - Lancashire)
Seeking any info or relatives:
Patrick Hester, born abt 1835, not certain whether in England or Ireland.
Catherine Hester, born abt 1838, not certain whether in England or Ireland.
The family was living in Heaton Norris, according to Census records from 1871 (possibly in the 1860's) to 1891 (possibly early 1900's) It appears they had six children living: Sabina Hester born abt. 1856, John Hester born abt. 1858, Mary Ellen Hester born abt. 1860, George Hester born abt. 1868, Margaret Ann Hester born abt. 1870 and Joseph Hester born abt. 1872. They attended Christ Church. A Fanny Cheatham was also in residence with the family at the time of the 1871 Census. I do not know if she was related, however, her age was placed at 78 which places her birth at abt. 1793. I know for certain that Margaret Ann emigrated to the US. She married John J. Mahoney. I do not know if they married in England or the US. US Immigration records seem to indicate that John J. Mahoney hailed from Cork, Ireland, and do not show him accompanied by a wife so I am assuming they married in New Jersey. They lived together in Newark, New Jersey. In 1901, George followed Margaret there and lived for a time with the Mahoney's. In 1891, Patrick and Catherine were 56 and 53 respectively. George, at age 23, appeared to be the last child living with them and I can find no information about them after the 1891 Census. Any help here would be most appreciated.
