red mail Edmondson. Broughton in Craven - (Broughton - Yorkshire, West Riding)
Edmondson, Richard. He married Rebecca the daughter of John Wilkinson of Marton in Craven, in 1773 when Richard was about 25/30. Richard and Rebecca had 3 sons Richard, William and Thomas. I know lots about Richard from the date of his marriage. He farmed the Tempest's farm on the "Broughton Hall Estate" and got involved in water supplies for the Leeds/liverpool Canal, but nothing about him prior to 1773. Who his parents were or where he came from, though I have a suspition he was not born in Broughton or Marton. Help or advice welcome.

red mail Annie Blood - (Burn - Yorkshire, West Riding)
One of my fathers relatives lived at Burn Hall , she was connected to the Bird family and the Wbsters. I remember visiting her about 1950, the house was very dark inside and she had a housekeeper and what interested my elder brother very much was an almost new Crossley car in the wooden garage on the drive, on blocks with only a few miles on the clock. He reckoned it was about 1920 vintage. She said she would go out in it when the better weather came. Any information about her or the house or her husband would be graetly appreciated.

red mail Foster families of Buslingthorpe - (Buslingthorpe - Yorkshire, West Riding)
My great-great grandfather William Foster was born somewhere in Leeds in 1813. He was posted to Canada about 1840 with the British army where he met and married Jane Moorhead, who was born in Montreal or Quebec City in 1824, of Irish or Scottish parentage. They had a son called Charles in 1843 but then returned to Leeds because their next child, John, was born there in 1845. The Fosters were living at 17 Chancellor Street, Buslingthorpe at the time of the 1851 census and I would be very grateful to hear from anyone who has connections with any families called Foster in this area around this time. As I do not know where William was born, I can only assume that he returned to the place of his birth?? I could be wrong! There was a John Foster (born about 1820) living in the next street to William in 1851, but were they related? I have nothing to go on pre 1851, so any information would be greatly appreciated.
